NEWS IN BRIEF 2008

On 24^th March we should have held our first dog show of the year at Eltham Park South, in aid of Greenwich & Bexley Hospice. Unfortunately this show never went ahead due to adverse weather conditions, throughout the morning we had heavy snow falls. We arrived on site to find that the ring had not been erected because the grounds- man said he didn’t know if we would be going ahead with the show or not, also the ground was very wet and muddy underfoot. We waited around for about 2 hours getting colder and colder and during that time only about 8 dogs turned up so the decision was made to cancel the show. Our apologies go to the people and their dogs that braved the weather and came.

On 25^th March we held our AGM, once again usual run of the mill stuff with a few loyal members attending. One of our committee members – Lesley - stood down so we are now running with a committee of 8 again but we are hoping to co-opt another member onto the committee later in the year. We thank Lesley for all her hard work over the past few years and she has already said that she will be around to help with the dog shows later in the year if we need her.
